Glin Castle

Well it has been a while since I last wrote of my trip to Ireland. I have not given up on it, and we're a little less than halfway through the Big Irish List. So come on, our next stop is Glin Castle.

But if you remember we last left our travelers at the Cliffs of Moher. To get to Glin Castle will be yet another drive across the Irish countryside. We pointed the Ford south and again hugged the coast toward Killimer. There we got in line for the Ferry across the River Shannon. As you can see, the sea...she was angry that day.

We got out of the car and headed topside for the duration of the 20 minute ride across the estuary.

Once off the ferry the castle was a quick jaunt east. We checked in and I tested the bed with a power nap while the girls enjoyed afternoon tea.

After napping I joined the girls exploring the castle grounds. I smoked my new Peterson pipe and checked out the kitchen's walled garden. Almost all the ingredients for meals are raised on site, including chickens.

Tomorrow we head south to the Dingle Peninsula.
